1. Who are you?
I am a person who is slowly learning to share. By day, I share legal advice; at night, I share music, photographs and text. I am a work in progress, but each step forward teaches me to share.
2. What are you looking for?
I look for butterflies. I look for the perfect blend of compassion and justice. I look to learn about kindness–how to be kind, and how to receive kindness.
3. Where are you staying?
I live with my wonderful wife and two small dogs in a town called Allen, on the edge of the Texas prairie, 25 miles north of Dallas. I stay on open fields, binoculars in hand, searching for birds. I travel sometimes, but my music travels much more than I do–I ran the search term “gurdonark” through google video today, and found my music was flying with night birds in Bali, while I am still home in my little suburb. I stay within sound inside a software synthesizer.
4. What have are you found?
Creed matters less than compassion. Tradition is a wonderful muse but a frightening master. I believe in the seven virtues, in the search for God and fact, and in the power of grace. I believe that all are surely saved, but none may be complacent. I found in myself the ability to make mistakes, the ability to learn from them, and the ability to make different mistakes the next time.
5. Where are you going?
Four years ago, we adopted a
dog from an animal shelter. We believe she is half beagle hound and half pug–a “puggle”. Although she had obviously lived with another family, she adapted herself to our family, and became part of our “pack”. She’s a lovely creature, chasing tennis balls and showing great kindness. If I can travel as well as my small black dog did for even a kilometer, then I’ll find my destination. I am not a big believer in the destination of the trip–but I believe wholeheartedly in the travel.
