My name is Karin Ramaker from The Hague, the Netherlands (there’s more than Amsterdam) and I have published communication and popular psychology books at Scriptum publishers. (‘Opkrabbelen’ 2011, ‘Gewoon Single’ 2013 and ‘Beter Blogging’ 2015)
My poem ‘Behind Glass’ is included in the poetry collection ‘My neighbor across the street is a seagull’ (2021) compiled by Tsead Bruinja. Info: https://www.liverse.nl/meeuw.html
In 2022, a text was included in the book ‘Carnaval’ by Jan van Mersbergen.
I have been writing irregularly on my blog since 2000. I am self-employed and work part-time as a pedagogical worker with a host family. I have been working on a manuscript for years and currently doing a secret project. It’s secret, I can not tell you.
In my free time I like to read, draw and take long walks, do yoga and hang out with friends and family and dine! And I like to actively work on projects that I initiate myself, such as Iedereen Speelt and Hart Op Straat. ♡ I have also been very busy with genealogy in recent years, I love researching. I won’t stop searching until I find answers. I hope to reap the benefits of this in my work in the coming period.
When I’m not writing, I’m thinking about writing.
My reading tips:
Female writers as Marguerite Duras, Simone de Beauvoir, Annie Ernaux, Joan Didion, Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison and Dutch writer Renate Dorrestein.
And while you read, please listen to Gabrièl Fauré or Kaat van Stralen.
As part of the initiative of the Royal Library (KB) to preserve a selection of Dutch websites for future research, this website will also be archived as of February 19, 2023 and will be stored for the long term.
